The Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board (HELSB), on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Zambia and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), invites applications from suitably qualified Zambian Government officials for the 2027 KOICA Scholarship Programme.

The program aims to develop future leaders and enhance human resource capacity in partner countries through fully funded Master’s and Doctoral degree studies in the Republic of Korea.

Master’s Degree Programmes (17 Months)

8. AI Digital Innovation – University of Seoul
9. Control of Infectious Disease – Yonsei University
10. Digital Health – Yonsei University (Mirae Campus)
11. Social Economy – Yonsei University (Mirae Campus)

Doctoral Degree Programmes (36 Months)

1. Capacity Building on High Value-added Agriculture – Kyungpook National University
2. Global Fisheries Development – Pukyong National University
3. AI Digital Innovation – University of Seoul
4. Control of Infectious Disease – Yonsei University

Eligibility Requirements

For Master’s Degree Programmes:

• Be a Zambian citizen.
• Be officially nominated by the Government of Zambia.
• Be a serving Government Official or Public Sector Employee.
• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution by 31 July 2026.
• Preferably possess at least two (2) years of relevant work experience.
• Be under forty (40) years of age.
• Be in good physical and mental health.
• Possess strong English language proficiency.

For Doctoral Degree Programmes:

• Meet all requirements for Master’s degree applicants.
• Hold a Master’s Degree from a recognized institution by 31 July 2026.
• Preferably possess at least three (3) years of relevant professional experience after completion of the Master’s degree.

Ineligible Applicants:

• Individuals who have previously received a degree scholarship from the Government of Korea.
• Previous KOICA scholars whose scholarships were cancelled or forfeited.
• Applicants who fail to meet university-specific admission requirements.
