Kenneth Kaunda Metropolitan University is a private higher education institution in Lusaka, Zambia, named in honour of Zambia’s first president, Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda. The university was established in 2012 and is recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education and the Higher Education Authority to offer nationally recognised tertiary qualifications including bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees. Its campus is located in the Kabulonga area along Leopards Lane off Lake Road in Lusaka.

Kenneth Kaunda Metropolitan University has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Copperbelt University (CBU), enabling collaboration that includes opportunities for students to study for CBU-awarded degrees through KKMU, particularly in areas like business and law. This partnership helps broaden academic pathways and aligns with efforts to expand access to quality higher education.
The institution offers flexible study modes including full-time, evening and weekend programmes aimed at accommodating diverse learners. Admission requirements typically include a minimum of five credits at Grade 12 level including English and Mathematics.
