This programme prepares students to become Clinical Officers—vital medical practitioners in the Zambian health system who provide primary care, especially in rural and semi-urban districts. It is often offered at the Diploma level (3 years) or Degree level (4 years).
Clinical Officers are often the “backbone” of rural health centers in Zambia. After completing the Diploma, students must pass the HPCZ Licensure Examination (LEX) to practice. There is also an “upgrade” path for Diploma holders to earn a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medical Sciences.
