TCZ Registration Online & Certificates: Teaching Council of Zambia

In this post we will look at how to use the Teaching Council of Zambia – TCZ Portal via www.teacher.tcz.ac.zm, for your TCZ registration online, verification, practicing license application and renewal procedures.

The Teaching Council of Zambia – TCZ is a regulatory statutory body under the Ministry of Education. The mandate of TCZ is to regulate the teacher practices and professional conduct. And further provides for the regulation and accreditation of colleges of education.

Process

The teacher registration application procedure involves a few simple steps and they are as follows:

  1. First, you need to download the Teacher Registration Application form from the TCZ website www.teacher.tcz.ac.zm, or collect at Debs and or if in Lusaka, from the Data center at Jesmondine, Mwambula, Road.
  2. Fill in the Application form, then
  3. Obtain a bank deposit slip by depositing the Application fee according to your category through Zanaco (Bill Muster) or Natsave (Using a deposit slip with TCZ logo)
  4. Send the filled and application form to TCZ together with the following:
  • Certified copy of NRC
  • One (1) Passport sized photo
  • Verified copies of academic qualifications
  • Verified copies of Professional qualifications
  • Bank deposit slip
  1. Next, you need to obtain an original TCZ receipt of payment from TCZ Accounts
    Unit
  2. Non Zambians should attach other relevant supporting
    documents and clearance from Zambia Qualification
    Authority (ZAQA)
  3. Submit the forms at local Debs office/regional offices in
    Kitwe, Livingstone and Kasama. If in Lusaka, submit your
    application form at the Accreditation and Registration
    center in Jesmondine, Mwambula road.
  4. Once submitted, you need to wait for the outcome of your application.

TCZ registration requirements

  1. Certified copy of NRC
  2. One (1) Passport sized photo
  3. Verified copies of academic qualifications
  4. Verified copies of Professional qualifications
  5. Bank deposit slip

After successfully registering on the Teaching Council of Zambia online portal, and obtaining a TCZ number. You can apply for certification.

TCZ Practicing Certificate Online Application Procedure

Note that, teachers with a TCZ number. Can apply for practicing certificate even when they have not received the registration certificate.

To apply for teacher practicing certificate online, follow these steps:

  1. First, check the fee according to the category you want to apply for and then
  2. Deposit the fee at either NATSAVE (TCZ deposit slip) or ZANACO (bill Muster)
  3. After that, open the TCZ practicing certificate link www.tcz.ac.zm/certification
  4. Subscribe
  • Enter your TCZ number
  • Enter your NRC, Non Zambian Passport Number
  • Create your own password (better mixed letters & numbers)
  • Confirm your password
  • Click Subscribe
  1. Head over to Teacher Login
  • Enter your TCZ number
  • Enter password
  • Then, click login
  1. Tap Apply for certification
  • Select number of years served
  • Choose qualifications
  • Select class
  • Upload your passport size photo
  • Then, Upload the photo of your signature
  • Upload the computer printed deposited slip
  • Type the reference number on the computer printed deposited slip. If more than one ref no use the slash (/) to separate the numbers. e.g. 48348000/23670
  • Click Apply

TCZ Verification: How to Check status of Registration & Certificate

Quite often, Teacher Registration and Practicing Certificates are printed and placed on the TCZ portal without owners being notified. However, for TCZ registration, here is how to check if your certificates are ready or not.

  1. Go to TCZ Website: www.teacher.tcz.ac.zm
  2. Navigate and Tap on Verify
  3. Enter your NRC Number
  4. Click on verify

Your photo, name, TCZ number and District (DEBS office) will be displayed. Also you will get notified if both the Teacher Registration and Practicing Certificate are ready or not.

If your documents are ready, visit the DEBS indicated with your actual NRC for identification to collect the certificates.

How to Check TCZ Number online using NRC

To check your TCZ number online, do the steps below:

  1. Got to: teacher.tcz.ac.zm
  2. Tap on Verify
  3. Enter your NRC in the space provided and click Verify

The Status of your documents will be shown after checking TCZ number using NRC.

And that’s it. All trained teachers can now do their TCZ Registration, Practicing certificate application. And renewal process online through the TCZ portal .
